Pastor Joel Osteen & Lakewood Church
Pastor Joel Osteen is the minister of Lakewood Church, a wonderful church teaching the message of Jesus Christ to millions worldwide. His sermons are easily available for free on his website and are updated weekly.
Recently, Pastor Osteen has been criticized in some religious circles as teaching a "Gospel Lite" doctrine.
Listening to Pastor Osteen one can see his sermons mirror the same messages as were taught by Christ, including messages of hope, family, community, faith, works, compassion and kindness, charity, humility, how to live in peace with ones fellow man and basic principles for harmonious living. This was Christs message. Not the divisive messages being taught by his critics.
While we are in no way affiliated with Pastor Osteen or Lakewood Church, we encourage you to visit Pastor Osteens site, and watch his sermons for yourself. Pastor Osteen is just one of many good preachers and pastors who teach the Gospel of Christ as it was taught by Christ during his 3 year ministry.Christ's Gospel was not complicated, nor was it cruel, indifferent or apathetic to the sufferings of man. It was a simple message of hope, faith, encouragement and general guidelines for how to live in a peaceful society by learning to live, work and commune with one another. Pastor Osteen's message mirrors these simple concepts and that does not constitute "gospel lite". That is the Gospel in its purest form.
While we may have some minor doctrinal differences with Pastor Osteen and Lakewood church, we feel that the important message of Christ, one of hope, encouragement, kindness and compassion are what sets his message apart from the myriad of evangelists and preachers that dominate the airways and churches and outweighs any doctrinal perceptions or ideologies. The most important message of the Gospel didn't reside in doctrinal tidbits or ideologies, but in Christ's commandment to love one another and in that we find our common faith.

There have even been websites dedictated to dismissing Pastor Osteen as a false prophet, and false preacher. From what we've seen however nothing could be further from the truth.
